Katy Govan is completing her master in fine arts degree this spring in the emerging field of book arts. Additionally, she holds a bachelor of fine arts degree in photography from California State University Eastbay. Govan uses the form of handmade books to preserve and convey personal stories about memory, inheritance and loss, as well as provide tangible and metaphorical stories of family relationships and legacy. Her books invite the reader to recall, relive and revise memories of the past and personal narratives yet to be.
