The School of the Arts engages more than 25,000 children each year in concerts, workshops, presentations and exhibitions specifically tailored to their age levels.

In 2004, the School of the Arts at the University of Nevada, Reno was created in response to extraordinary growth in the arts on campus and in our community. Today the school provides a home to five vibrant programs: art, music, dance, theatre and the Black Rock Press. The School of the Arts faculty comprises internationally recognized performers, artists, scholars, educators, composers, conductors and curators.

The University of Nevada, Reno School of the Arts embraces its role as a vibrant center for arts and culture in Northern Nevada. Its degree programs provide a strong foundation in a range of artistic disciplines, enabling students to contribute as artists, educators, and scholars on the local level and beyond. The School also supports and encourages research, innovation, and the artistic endeavors of its faculty. Finally, the School encourages broad campus and community participation in the arts through its numerous performances, lectures, shows, core courses, and outreach activities that explore diverse cultures and encourage lifelong learning.
